Any of you picore guys use a Mediatek MT7601U based dongle? My gentle
prodding to get the upstream (4.2) driver into the rpi-4.1 tree, has
paid off. ('Enable Mediatek mt7601u wifi driver in 4.2 tree'

If anyone has such a dongle and a Raspbian image, can you rpi-update,
confirm all is good with supporting the dongle, and let popcornmix know
all is good via the github issue I referenced above.

To make it even easier for you... Grab the firmware file 'mt7601u.bin'
(http://www3.squeezecommunity.org/mt7601u.bin) and copy to
/lib/firmware, after the rpi-update and before you reboot.

I know quite a few people use these Mediatek dongles rather than the
"semi-official" RPI 8188/8192 choice. Has always been a pain, relying on
the vendor driver and building it out-of-tree, rather than having an
upstream driver. I'm quite confident it works just fine and I've been
patching that driver into my Fedora builds since 3.19 kernel builds. If
someone could test with Raspbian using the pre-built RPI "firmware",
would save me doing it. ;)
