Seriously, all my Linux/raspbian boxes upgrade themselves live by
overwriting files and restarting effected services. There really
shouldn't be a need to pull a rather overcomplicated force-usb-boot
switch and switch back setup at all.
In fact I've talked commercial vendors out of thinking about this on the
basis that for a one-off major upgrade that required a repartitioning
the customer would put up with downtime... Engineering time is precious,
don't waste it on fluff.
