Jitter at the DAC input or output?

Who are "they"? I am pretty familiar with the maths (and construction)
of delta-sigma DACs, and none of the calculations are in any way
affected by the incoming data clock, only by the DAC master clock. The
incoming data is buffered.

Of course you can never determine purely subjective perceptions in an
objective way (except by statistics on a large number of test subjects),
but results of jitter, in those DACs where it affects the output, is
relatively easy to measure with a simple sound card/interface.
