That may be the case in general, but in this case these boards do decrease jitter (that has been documented by measurements) and the results are indeed audible (by hundreds of people.. literally..). I can't do any better than this, I'm not a DAC chip designer. Regarding the measurements, what kind of measurements would you expect to objectively determine "soundstage" or "level of detail"? The measurements most hobbyists are capable of show all DAC chips and op-amps to measure almost exactly the same.
