There are 2 partitions on the SD card. It is the boot partition that is running out of space. We you upgrading from a very old pCP (which I think had a small boot partition in the old days)?
Perhaps you have copied some other files into the boot partition that you can remove. If you put the SD card into a PC you will be able to take a look and delete (copy first if important to restore later).
