It is difficult to say - I have a development system where I often pull
the plug even with LMS running and I haven't seen any issue. 
The problem is that LMS is a server and from time to time it will write
to the sd-card. If you kill it while is is writing I suppose you will be
able to break it. 

I think it would minimize the risk of corruption of the SD-card if you
move the cache and preference folder to an attached HDD or USB flash
drive.
