CDROM drive playing audio can something have long lags due to way audio
is recovered so can vary from drive to drive - certainly newer drive
with buffers help.  The cdda2wav is a ripper type program so ries to be
accurate so may slows things down.  Also if not using Pi3 - processing
power affects performance and time to start playback

PCM should work- Flac encoding is an extra step which maybe adds up to 5
secs to playback start .  What type of player is being used ?  Make sure
no special setups for Wav/PCM (e.g resampling)
