I've almost finished the changes to the 240x240 skin and the rest of
Jivelite to make the brightness controls work. One outstanding task is
the multilingual translations of various on-screen messages. One of the
really nice things about Jive/Lua is that the language support is built
in - we just need to supply a file of translations. I'm no linguist, so
I'm hoping I can use the skills of the good people on this forum to
'crowd source' some translations.
First up is a simple one - the name of the skin. The text against the
commented-out lines (preceded with #) is what is used for the QVGA
'landscape' skin, but it needs to be updated to match the new EN
version.

The other translations I'd appreciate some help with relate to
'minimised' versions of what is shown on the brightness screens. These
two photos show how little space there is for this text, so I've had to
generate new versions that use the fewest possible words.

These screens can't be scrolled up and down, because the direction keys
are used to adjust the brightness level, so the text MUST fit. In
minimising what was there previously, I was not able to convey
-precisely- the same message as the original, non-space-constrained,
versions (which I've left in for reference below), but in my opinion the
meaning is still clear. So that's the objective with the translations
in other languages. The meaning must be similar, but top priority is
that the length of the text should be no longer than the EN equivalent.
There's space for a few extra characters here and there, depending how
the lines break, but it should not require any additional lines. Even
the title at the top of the page needs to be short - when it said
'Backlight Brightness:' it would not quite display correctly if the
value was 100.
