First, wifi was most definitely not enabled in that configuration. I
need to see the boot process with wifi enabled.
This is rather interesting in dmesg.
Code:
--------------------
[ 5.823169] bcmgenet fd580000.genet eth0: Link is Up - 1Gbps/Full - flow
control rx/tx
[ 5.855073] IP-Config: Guessing netmask 255.255.0.0
[ 5.855079] IP-Config: Complete:
[ 5.855086] device=eth0, hwaddr=dc:a6:32:57:fa:a3,
ipaddr=169.254.83.246, mask=255.255.0.0, gw=255.255.255.255
[ 5.855089] host=169.254.83.246, domain=, nis-domain=(none)
[ 5.855093] bootserver=255.255.255.255, rootserver=255.255.255.255,
rootpath=

Where did you get the idea to put "ip=169.254.83.246" on the kernel
command line?
Code:
--------------------
[ 0.000000] Kernel command line: coherent_pool=1M 8250.nr_uarts=1 cma=64M
bcm2708_fb.fbwidth=0 bcm2708_fb.fbheight=0 bcm2708_fb.fbdepth=16
bcm2708_fb.fbswap=1 smsc95xx.macaddr=DC:A6:32:57:FA:A3
vc_mem.mem_base=0x3f000000 vc_mem.mem_size=0x3f600000 dwc_otg.fiq_fsm_mask=0xF
host=piCorePlayer dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 console=tty1 root=/dev/ram0
elevator=deadline rootwait quiet nortc loglevel=3 noembed smsc95xx.turbo_mode=N
noswap consoleblank=0 waitusb=2 ip=169.254.83.246
--------------------
What I would do at this point. Burn a new image. Follow these
instructions to setup wifi before you even boot the device the first
time.
