The touchscreen can consume around 500mA.
The latest Pi (4) can consume more than earlier models.
So - you could remove the jumper cables that are used to join the power
between the Pi and the screen and power the screen and Pi independently
if you have a spare power supply.
Also - you might be dropping quite a lot of power between the power
supply and the device depending on the quality of the cable.
