Not a good assumption because Pulaseaudio works on top of ALSA.
Standard 18.04 has Pulaseaudio installed - so you need to be very very
careful
There are are two version of squeezelite - one for ALSA and one for
pulse.
The command squeezelite -o pulse - means use ALSA but output to the
device which ALSA is using for pulse- which may not be what you want.
Use "aplay -L" to see what the ALSA "pulse" device is connected to.
For example how different squeezelite behaves on an Ubuntu 18.04 x86_64
system witj Pulseaudio,
