Well I often pursue the following methodolgy when trying something new.
Make a base image, this can include stuff I am certain about. Back up the image. Continue experimenting with the base image, if I mess up, then flash a new one and continue. When I have found the correct path, I make a new image and install the "whatever" and make a back up image of that. And progress in this manner until I am happy with what I have, and, you guessed it, make a back up image. When I see something that interests me on this or other forums I have a play. Sometimes I have given up because the methodology defeats me (trying to build perl for a 32 bit install was my last failure) but I always learn new stuff and the devs here are a patient bunch :) ronnie ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112025 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
