@ bpa
I understand your advice (and I have been very grateful for your lucid explanations, which have helped me a lot, reading what you say to others). It is just that in my user case Raspbian Deasktop OS on a rpi 4b I use only alsa. (Pulse and Jack have to be installed) All of the dac hats I use respond well to hw: and the same can be said of usb (I first used front:). I know of some portable dacs that used to require plughw: and maybe still do. Ultimately, I just try things and if I can make them work, then I'm condfident in recomending something. The point that I know nowt about how any of it works is completely irrelevent :o :o :) :) ronnie ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112025 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
