OK, so I'm back again sorry to say. Not a pCP problem this time, so maybe I should take this elsewhere. As I mentioned previously, I just got a new DAC (a Topping E30) and I set it up as per the instructions here https://docs.picoreplayer.org/projects/add-topping-e30-usb-dac/. It sounds fabulous, and a great upgrade for me, but I've had repeated crashes. To be fair I've been cranking up the volume but after ten minutes or so nothing. So I'm wondering if overheating is the issue as I've read that pis (in this case a 4B) are prone to that. I'm happy to buy a suitable fan or heatsink to resolve the issue but wanted to check that overheating is indeed the issue here--it's been running at a lower volume for quite a while now and hasn't yet crashed again. But there are days when you wanna party, you know!
So, to be specific, is it possible to verify the issue, through diagnostics or otherwise? Do pis just crash when they get too hot? And if so, any recommendations for the best solution? My setup is simple: pi > Topping dac > my venerable NAD 3020.
