I tried playing with the options on the mount command, and the first try worked. You can see the command in the screenshot below, along with the response.
35929 You can see that it tries seven times and finally succeeds. (Hooray!!) Unfortunately, I understand almost none of it. The options in the original pCP mount command are: nolock uid=1001 gid=50 along with the network address. I got the impression from an earlier failure that the nolock option was important, so I retained it and jettisoned the others. But in the end, it's not clear to me that the nolock option was actually employed. As for uid and gid, a little research indicates they can be important for certain file systems, but the site I read didn't say anything about NFS with regard to them. So, I really don't know why pCP employs them. Anyway, apparently one of them produces an error for me. Surely it would be better if the command used the right options to begin with and the system didn't have to try seven times to mount the NAS. So, if anybody can say anything illuminating about this, that would be great. Obviously, I have no experience with this. Anyway, for now it's working and I'm listening to music. -David +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: Screenshot 2021-10-12 191601.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35929| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dpotts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114828 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
