I use a 300MHz iBook with OS X 10.1.5 and can tell you now the newly
introduced Rage Pro support (the early G3 graphics chip) is a
revolution. OS X is entirely usable even on my little iBook. I do
have 288MB RAM in it and don't tend to run heavyweight apps on it
like Illustrator or Photoshop but I can heartily recommend you at
least set it up to dual boot with 9.2.2 and OS X. If you need UNIX
you coulod do a lot worse than use OS X also. I expec there is a
MySQL out there for it, check SourceForge.net or try googling.
