Hi, I'm new to the group and I didn't see this issue adressed in the
archives;

I am using a 7500/100 with a Sonnett G3/400 with 512/133 cache and 448 meg
of ram, non-interleaved, on 5 chips. I have finally gotten X to install
(10.0) on the stock 2 gig HD on the internal SCSI II bus (and this was all
kinds of fun in and of itself! It involved booting into some kind of text
mode where no commands work at all, even those that work in X's Terminal
application, untill I hit either cntrl-D or cntrl-F, not sure...). The
problem is the ATA card (it seems to have ACard rom, though it is kind of a
generic card)- Apple System Profiler _in_ OSX sees the ata card and
properly reports it, but for some reason my Western Digital 30 gig drive,
as well as an old 9 gig Quantum on the second ATA bus pulled from a G4, are
not seen. I am very new to X but I have some *-nix experience and I could
not get the 30 gig drive- "Ausir", to mount with mount /dev/pci1,850UF/
0,0:6/ .

Are there any modifications or *shudder* reformatting that I can use to get
these drives that I need to use Classic (I have a very well-developed OS9
system on Ausir that I want to use for Classic)? I will feel very
restricted if I can't use any of my existing apps or even the OSX stuff
that I have already DL'ed for use...

Thanks if anyone has any help,

Rik

PS: I plan to eventually switch this setup back to my 8500 where it came
from.
