Recommendation: format it and put your paging file on it. Use a utility 
such as SwapCop, which makes it very easy. Keeping virtual memory in a 
dedicated partition improves performance; firstly, the OS doesn't have to 
search through the filesystem to find the file, which makes things very 
slightly quicker (though a disk cache largely nullifies this); secondly, 
if the partition is dedicated - i.e., there's nothing else on it - it will 
prevent fragmentation of the swapfile (and, indeed, of the volume it's 
on.)

Finally, if said dedicate volume is on a dedicated drive, preferably 
on a dedicated controller, the OS can overlap VM disk I/O with file 
operations.
