I've had great stability with my Umax J700 and Jaguar. I can 
just leave it running- no worries. I think your problems suggest 
bad ram or the like- sounds like something's not right with your 
hardware. The fact that OS9 didn't boot indicates that. The 
7300 is a perfect machine to upgrade. My wife is using a 7600/
120 with 10.1.5 on it and only 112 ram! Not a suggested 
configuration, but it works and is stable as a rock. It's her 
choice to run OS X. I'm trying to get her to buy a G3 and go to 
10.2...
