A few days with Jaguar on my much-upgraded 7300 and I've seen my first crash. A kernel panic, presented in grey over a dimmed screen, but not any more welcome for that.
This machine was awful before I removed the 2y cache, tho' OS X would survive from hours to a max of 3 days; OS 9 seldom completed booting, and 20min was a triumph! Now, I've seen 1 panic in about 36h use. It's putting me off throwing MORE money at this old machine & getting a PCI 3D card for it. And, although it's usable, it's sobering to use an iMac or iBook in a shop and find how very much faster they are. So. I'd like to conduct a quick straw poll...
