A few days with Jaguar on my much-upgraded 7300 and I've seen my first
crash. A kernel panic, presented in grey over a dimmed screen, but not
any more welcome for that.

This machine was awful before I removed the 2y cache, tho' OS X would
survive from hours to a max of 3 days; OS 9 seldom completed booting,
and 20min was a triumph!

Now, I've seen 1 panic in about 36h use.

It's putting me off throwing MORE money at this old machine & getting
a PCI 3D card for it.

And, although it's usable, it's sobering to use an iMac or iBook in a
shop and find how very much faster they are.

So. I'd like to conduct a quick straw poll...

How do people find the stability of OS X on older, upgraded hardware?
