Yes, I'm sandwich testing. About a year ago, I had big trouble getting to 1 GB. This is Velocity ram purchased August '01. All are 129 MB EDO ram. Ramometer is good in that a stick or a 1 GB array of sticks should be able to pass 5000 cycles testing. In the present batch, I've found 3 sticks that failed. I'll test them again to make sure. Let me say again, these untested sticks were probably mixed with the ram I had pulled from the 2 S900 during my chaos surrounding 2 ailing S900's. Here is what Jeff said about additional sandwiching (this after normal sandwiching to test ram): "I think what I would do to start is to test your RAM four sticks at a time. Fill bank A or bank B, e.g. A1, A2, A3, A4 and run it about 2500 iterations. Then swap A1 and A2 and swap A3 and A4 so what was outer is now inner and vice versa and run another 2500 iteration." All this came about when ram dropped to $ 18/128 MB last year and the failure rate rose. I don't know if Velocity is around any more. They were OK about returning bad ram. They may have vanished.
