That was the idea, yes, but tho' I personally doubt the difference would 
be measurable, I have seen claims of a noticeable improvement putting VM 
on a different partition on the same physical drive. Perhaps it's just the 
placebo effect...

Another good point, since 10.2.2 anyway!

For mine, I used UFS, on the tentative basis that it's been NextStep's 
native filesystem since the 1980s and should be pretty optimised by now, 
whereas HFS/HFS+ support is new since Rhapsody days and HFS(+) was never 
meant as a Unix filesystem. This may be a load of dingo's kidneys as far 
as any performance improvement goes, of course.
