Ok... I have recently installed the 10.2.2 upgrade to my 8500 in hopes that somehow this would restore my lost audio (which has been gone ever since I upgraded to the newest version of iTunes via Software Update and simutaneously added an ATA/66 card, making it effectively impossible to tell what has caused the problem exactly). For a brief period, on the matter of seconds, MP# playback, and all system sound with it, was back, but it then began to fade in and out with several odd permutations to the sound, and now it is gone altogether again.
I've heard that there are audio problems on unsupported machines; what are they and how can I fix them? Is it a matter of some corrupted fie somewhere that I can maintain a backup on or is this one of the little facts of life that I am going to have to deal with as a unsupported OSX Mac user? Please tell me of any solution!
