Well, if OS X is anything like it's BSD/Unix roots (and I believe it is, from seeing how it boots in verbose mode), all drivers for stuff OS X supports "out of the box", like G3's, G4's, video cards, motherboards, etc. should already be installed on the hard drive. Every time OS X boots, it redetects all it's hardware and loads the appropriate drivers (maybe even with ModProbe). So as long as the hard drive is in the same physical location it was before (like still a master on the primary hard drive, or still SCSI ID 3 on the first controller), everything should be fine. If you move the hard drive to somewhere else on the chain, it may boot, and it may not, because some config files, like fstab, won't have the right device addresses listed anymore. With a little command line work though, you could even fix these problems fairly easily. Anyways, try it, and if it doesn't work right, put it back in the other computer. BTW, you definitely don't have to worry about programs or files not working afterwards. If it boots into OS X and all your hardware is recognized (and it should be if this is a stock G3), then you should have no problems with files or programs. _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
