There is actually another option to get around OS X's not remembering your 
keychain stuff when the username is different.  Type in the username and 
password and get the network share to appear on your desktop.  Click it and 
make an alias.  Make a folder somewhere easy to access called "Network 
Shares" or something similar and stick the alias in the folder.  Double 
clicking the alias should mount the share if it isn't mounted, and it will 
automatically put in your name/password for you.  For every new share you 
use frequently, just do the same thing and put the aliases in the Network 
Shares folder.  This is how I access shares when I'm at home since the 
network browsing feature doesn't show Windows machines (though it does at 
work), only Mac machines, and I have DHCP so I don't know their IP 
addresses.
