The best being a RAM disk and using ATTO's disk transfer tests.
Also, GaugePro's RAM speed gives the same numbers. In OS X, XBench's
memory tests which test system RAM give the same number.

OK, I just ran XBench on this bax, and I got 105.68 MB/s for Fill, 26.16 MB/s for Copy, and 64.27-69.01 for Stream. None of these match the 50 MB/s you're talking about.

My 7600's XBench Stream numbers run at 90-99MB/sec at a 53 MHz bus speed with a G3 installed so you're right about the numbers, they don't match. In OS 9, this setup gets 52 MB/sec with RAM disk/ATTO and GaugePro, so these aren't quite 2x those numbers (re: your previous post) either.

Re: an earlier mention about G3 vs. G4 throughputs: I'm not sure what to think about the *real* throughput for these bus/memory systems but it does change when a G4 is added. I found my XBench results with a Beige G3/500 and Beige G4/433 (closest match I have):

G3/500

Memory Test 29.94
   System 29.25
      Allocate 93.50 49.18 Kalloc/sec
      Fill 79.65 456.77 MB/sec
      Copy 12.61 63.05 MB/sec
   Stream 30.65
      Copy 30.13 131.76 MB/sec
      Scale 30.17 131.65 MB/sec
      Add 30.64 139.40 MB/sec
      Triad 31.71 139.35 MB/sec

G4/433

Memory Test 35.63
   System 32.12
      Allocate 75.41 25.43 Kalloc/sec
      Fill 40.73 233.55 MB/sec
      Copy 17.99 89.93 MB/sec
   Stream 40.00
      Copy 38.48 168.26 MB/sec [altivec]
      Scale 38.61 168.47 MB/sec [altivec]
      Add 40.90 186.10 MB/sec [altivec]
      Triad 42.25 185.66 MB/sec [altivec]

Odd how the Allocate and Fill go down greatly while the others go up with the G4. Notice the use of altivec in the Stream benchmark. Problem is, I get varying numbers from XBench for Memory scores as well as CPU scores. Other XBench benchmarks are more consistent but it's hard to get consistency with these 2 tests.
