I recently upgraded a PowerMac 7600/G3 350 640 MB RAM running OS X 10.2.6 with a G4/400 MHz microprocessor.

The strange thing is that under OS 9 the performance of the two configurations (G3 vs G4) are quite different (although not **that** different...) while in OS X (the L2 cache is indeed enabled) the two configuration have the same performances (feed back, menu pull down, applications launch etc...) and Xbench gives a 26.83 score to the G3 and only a 18.33 for the G4.

Any idea?

Ben
