I cannot get Classic to boot on my 8500 with OSX. Anyone have an idea?
Of course I can boot directly into OS 9.2.1, but not into Classic
when I
am in OSX.

Updating to 9.2.2 is a great idea.... BUT have you chosen the
partition for Classicin your prefs?

When I try to start "Classic" from the Classic System Preference, I gets
just so far along, then seizes up (or seems to).

When you pick "Classic' in the System Prefs, you need to select a valid system folder. Not the partition only, but the system folder. Beside the named partition, click the arrow and pick the system folder, then try to 'boot' it....
