It includes support for Firewire drive booting and for the first time supports booting Cd's from within OSX. . Note this is Alpha software which means it likely still has bugs in it! No support (yet) for the Beige G3 nor Wallstreet power book. (some models of the Wallstreet do however work)
Also no support for the video which some machines have built in. Which means adding a PCI Video card. Ryan has added support for older Video cards which worked in earlier OSX versions. Apple has removed support for perhaps anything older then the PCI Radeon 7000 card! (but does support the older video built in to the older iMacs)
This was just released late today and I need to backup a rather large hard drive before I can try it. The software is currently only available to XPFacto forum members. It's currently $10.00 to join. The price is going up when the full release of XPFacto 3.0 is available but price is not yet set. So may not be available for free like previous versions. Apple has made so many changes since 10.2 it was a ton of work to get it working on old world machines.
If there is interest I'll write a report on my install and luck with Panther. Will S
