I have USB 2.0 cards in my Beige G3 and in my Sonnet-upgraded 7500. OS X recognises the EHCI chip set and I haven't run into any problems with them. And, yes, InforMac shows USB 2.0 devices on the EHCI bus. OS 9 has no support for EHCI, so it will only work with OHCI or UHCI based cards (either multi-controller or with emulation).
