Really?  Finally!!!!!!  yea!!!!!!

Apple's built-in V.90 modems are garbage, IMO. They're way too expensive. They're unable to maintain high-speed connections in conditions when even inexpensive externals can. And they have little to no surge protection in them -- so they're extremely succeptable to spikes up the phone line.
