Marc,

First of all, you don't need XPF for Jaguar (10.2.x) on a Beige G3.
Second: This is a very welknown problem with G3's. I answered this queri
already yesterday on this List. So again:
Boot in OS 9.
Download and use "System Disk" instead of Apple's control panel "Startup
disk", Goto:
glish-North_American/Macintosh/System/Mac_OS_X/System_Disk_Utility.smi.bin>
Select now Jaguar as your Boot-system and try again.
I always had success in case of this problem with unsupported OS X Macs and
G3's. So IMHO worth the try, simply to do and costs nothing.
Having problems with the dl, mail me OffList and I'll send it to you, < 300K
.smi.
HTH,

Jo Hissel
