Quoting Chad Sollis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
The text you would want people to use would be
<a href='http://yoursite.com">Postcards</a> by YourCompany
I would focus on 3-5 primary words and rotate how people link to you. so you
drive rank for multiple words.
It will be easier to focus on 1 primary word, and roll other flagship words
in as phases.
I agree with Chad on this, and the whole popularity value. How people
link to you is very helpful, especially when the keywords/keyphrases
are sitting between your anchor tags. But let's expand on it. I would
not discount keyphrases, as this can make a difference with other
sites who you are competing with. If they have a lock, or there are
just too many competitors to rank well, it's time to start
investigating keyphrases, multiples, maybe even locales. For example,
a snippet like:
<a href='http://yoursite.com/realtor-postcard-services.html"
target="_blank">See Professional Postcards and Advertising for Utah
Real Estate Agents</a>
Can you count how many potential keywords and keyphrases now? I got a
lot of bang there, totally white hat.
Is a pre-written snippet
of html the best way to go, or should I have them write something
themselves?
You do it, to make sure you control the text between the anchors, as
above. Then change the snippet, to fine-tune for best results over
time, and introduce new keywords as they open up.
