Something else that is widely overlooked in SEO, and quite possibly the single most important thing you can do for a website is relevant back links. Despite the common theory of "Content is King," and fretting over title tags, meta keywords, keyword density, and latent semantics... If you focus on your "popularity" (not talking about PR here)... your SEO rankings will start soaring.
It is often overlooked. However, I think the phrase "Content is King" includes the natural process of other sites linking to your articles because the content *is* good. You can help that process along, but if you have great content you'll get links without even looking for them. At least that's what the search engines assume. And they're getting smart enough that if they just find a link to your site that isn't in context it won't weigh very heavily towards your site. In otherwords, if you just stick links back to your site at the bottom of all your clients pages, it won't help as much as you hope and it might hurt you as engines get smarter. -- Jacob Wright Within Code LLC _______________________________________________ UPHPU mailing list [email protected] http://uphpu.org/mailman/listinfo/uphpu IRC: #uphpu on irc.freenode.net
