I'll offer an opinion: the whole thing. Sorry to be blunt, but the site's pretty hard to look at.

This is the situation I am in (at least from my stand point).

When I first came to this company (almost 4 years ago) I didn't know enough about the web to make a decent web page. I helped translate the site into spanish and it was refitted to look like it does now. The guy that designed the website (a very good programmer: his site www.icimedia.com) also hosts the site and our emails. He charges us $50 a month for hosting and 'minor changes' which he does none (i do most of it, because when we want something changed he usually says it doesn't fall in minor and charges us for it). He also charges us something like $150 dollars a year for the shopping cart (which is a joke. if you want a good laugh, add something to the cart on our page). The guy is hard to get a hold of to boot.

I have control to change the pages, but the database is done with cold fusion and I have only worked with mysql, and the shopping cart is, well, totally separate.

I think I could host the page on a company computer. I have practice with www.forodeherbales.com and just recently www.poderherbal.com, but I haven't dealt with email.

I don't know who technically owns the dns, and site registration, so I can't start asking the guy questions unless I am ready to leave.

The bad thing is that the boss here doesn't like change.

I want to do something, but I don't have a plan yet.
