My opinion of that reference probably comes from the following idiom:

* bust one's chops, Slang. to exert oneself.

Clint -- You are a serious crack up. That's GOT to be true. While not necessarily intended by the job poster, this may be a Freudian slip. I wonder if the post included something else as colorful, such as "slave wages."

Heheh, too funny. My sleepy noggin missed that last night :-D

"Programming chops" is pretty nebulous. Like it's a warning for non-programmer's not to apply to a programmer's position. I've worked with guys who were great programmers but coded themselves in to ugly corners all day long, thinking they were building some programming version of Mount Rushmore, to last the ages. And I've seen programmers who swore they had chops and couldn't be trusted to test their code before checking into the repository. With predictable disastrous results, they got their programming chops busted. To say they exerted themselves is an understatement.

Since I'd say my programming chops aren't worth much, if you happen to
run across a job that requires some mad CSS skills, do holler ;-)

You got it right, Velda. I'll take "mad skills" over "busted chops" any day! Nice attitude. Before you sell yourself too short, consider that CSS skills cover some very core concepts of programming, like inheritance, overwriting class properties, and separation of content from display (just like MVC). You may not be as far away as you think you are. ;)

Thanks for the boost ;-) I -get- the programming end of things, but it's just not my forte. I'll see if I can pick up the slack and get better :-)
