Short Question: What tips do you have for getting people to stay on your landing page?
Long Question (same as above, but longer): I noticed the other day that a page of a website I control was having a lot of traffic (at least a lot for me). I am getting 1200 hits a month (1050 unique). The page is westernbotanicals.com/sp/prog01.html but can only be accessed here http://westernbotanicals.com/sp/prog07.html The reason for the traffic is that it comes in the top 5 in Google for "como limpiar el colon" (how to clean the colon). It was getting a 85% Bounce Rate and Exit Rate. And I didn't get any orders from this page. I knew that page looked terrible, so I decided to try to freshen it up and make the ordering process simpler. I installed Zen Cart, and got it all set up. I did a 301 redirect to the new page and that part is working fine. Here is the new page http://www.westernbotanicals.com/shopping/index.php?main_page=page&id=1 But I must be missing something, because I am still getting an 85% bounce rate. I threw up some adwords to get a little more traffic. 13 visits today from adwords 3 second average stay (92% bounce rate). That isn't even long enough to decide whether the content is good. What tips do you have for getting people to stay on your landing page?
