Justin, contrary to what your executives think - You don't want people HANGING around on your landing page .. you want them buying! Lets be honest, if a person is coming to your site on such a niche search phrase, they are already "shopping" and engaged. You just need to give them a quick and easy nice-looking one page simple short checkout. I took about 10 mins, and looked around - Here's some (hopefully) helpful info WEBSITE / LANDING PAGE ---------------------------------------- 1) PLACE a BIG/EASY to see "buy now" button ABOVE the fold.. (the top 1/3 of the content on the page) 2) There's a lot of friction/text on that landing page because it is not CLEAR where to buy.. CLARITY TRUMPS PERSUASION! 3) Consider in your "purple-ish" callout with the bullet points, put a "Buy Now!" button in the bottom right - >> NOT ADD TO CART << - but a full on it's in my cart, and asking for my credit card number. in fact, I'd 301 them them right to this page: http://westernbotanicals.com/shopping/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=1 4) If you must have bullet points, make your bullet points PAIN points - Don't talk about the BENEFITs, talk about the horrible ailments that everybody has that it can cure! 5) Just like a previous poster said - Reduce your text. Perhaps put it on a "More" link? 6) If it is possible - offer a "free something or other" .. Give something for FREE - free trial, free teddy-bear, free shipping .. etc. CHECKOUT IDEAS ---------------------------------------- 1) I am all for easy shopping carts, but I'm not a fan of the "REGISTER" before you buy. On your checkout there are like a thousand fields to fill out! e.g.: Are you REALLY needing to have their FAX number? 2) I wouldn't want to "register" all my information when buying something like this. Just give me a form with a shipping address, email, and let me fill in my credit card info! Capture the funds, and move on! If they want to buy MORE they can come back and do the same thing. In fact you could "sell it" as "we respect your privacy, so we don't have you "Register" with us" _______________________________________________ UPHPU mailing list [email protected] http://uphpu.org/mailman/listinfo/uphpu IRC: #uphpu on irc.freenode.net
