I agree with the items. I think we (Unicon) can get to the Java 8 support in the next couple of weeks so leave that one to me at this time. If anyone else has a burning desire and the time though, I'm certainly encouraging someone else to tackle it. Please let me know if so.
Aaron can you share with us (or me off-list at my Unicon email address if you prefer) what testing and in particular what changes you've done with Tomcat 8? I'm not sure if we can tackle that one, but it would be good to share the info. Do you have insights on whether uPortal 4.2 should support Tomcat 7 or go exclusively with Tomcat 8? I haven't done any research into that yet. Aaron since you've done the changes for dropping SASS and Universality, is it possible to put that up in a pull request? We can probably justify converting mUniversality to LESS with Sustaining Engineering dollars, especially if the Universality part is handled by a PR.
