I often use "put" to write stuff to the message box for debugging. In a standalone, this content is apparently missing. On OS X it does not appear in the console.log. Is this a bug with the standalone engine?

Where does it go on OS X?
Where does it go on Windows?

On Unix I assume one can control stdout and stderr by using IO redirection in the shell command used to start the GUI app. But OS X and Windows I don't know.

Also-
when writing an external, it would be nice to be able to write content to the message box for debugging. Is this possible? I suppose I could send the engine a "put" message. Just looking for the preferred way.
