Hi Chuck..and all..
Yep at times the things that one think of as easy, can really be hard to get
your mind around to even know where to begin to solve it...
Here is another way..(there cant be too many..=)
This one uses the 'Tube Level' Tool...(since your Subj.. title was Tube..)
1. If not already, open 'NumericWindow' from menu 'View/NumericWindow'
(At times this NumericWindow is overlooked and not used at creation time..at
least I overlook it at times..)
2. Start 'Analytic Sphere' Tool....
3. Press (n Key) and the Position field gets activated, type in 1 1 1
(if 'Three Fields' is set in Preferences, then just type 1 and Tab and 1 and
Tab and 1)
4. After the last of the three numbers, press (Return Key) and the position
is set...
5. Again press (n Key) and the 'Radius' field gets activated, type in .01
and press (Return Key)
6. Press (a Key) to repeat the 'Anlytic Sphere' Tool
7. Repeat Steps 3-5, but with 1 -1 -1, and in Step 5 this time you only need
to press (Return Key) directly..since the same Radius value is already
there..
8. In 'Select' Window, Right click and choose 'New/Tube'
9. With the created Tube level selected, drop it to a new level (d Key) and
click the + sign to open the new level, so you see the 'Tube Level' level
inside it
10. In 'Select' Window multiselect the two spheres and drag n drag them into
the 'Tube' Level created in Step 8, RS now creates your need Cylinder
correctly..!
Now you have total control over it...and can place the Spheres where ever
you want and the cylinder will follow (or actually, a new Cylinder will be
created each time..)
If only needing the actual Cylinder, then either just delete the 'Tube'
Level, or set the two Spheres to 'RT-Invisible'
One drawback, is that RS dont places the Pivot Point (the handles) for the
Cylinder..
So if you need that, you have to manually fix this by moving and rotating
just the 'Pivot' Point and its 'Handles'
But mostly you dont need it, since you just need to Modifiy the Spheres ! =)
Ok hope this works out..
and I havent missed something here..
Good Luck..
Take Care

Hi guys,
Well, I'm always amazed at how much time I have wasted trying to do some
very simple things ... the Help and the Manual seem to be fixated on the
complex and the work flow for the basic stuff is hardly intuitive. Bla,
Bla Bla ....
Can anyone tell me how I can make an analytic cylinder .02 dia. that goes
from (1 1 1) to (1 -1 -1).
TIA
Chuck Henry ..... Grrrrrrrr!!!!!
