WOO HOO !

Now that the quad core is "officially" released :

Its time to start thinking about an upgrade path. While I'm tickled pink about the prospect of a quad core machine (and ultimately render farm) the reality bandwagon kicks in and raises a few issues:

I'm lead to believe that Win XP does not handle over 2 cpus so what OS does one goto ? (Knowing full well that Any flavour of linux does not support Autocad, Microstation nor revit CAD software) thus limiting it to windows. I'm told Windows 2003 server supports quads ? What about the (shudder) new flavours of Vista ? Do any of these support quad cpus ?

From a RS perspective - whats the most optimal quad / platform choice ? (ie is 64 bit windows worth considering ?)

Thanks !
