Hi Matthias..and all..

Your Alien prj seems to come along nicely..
Will be cool to see how it develops.. and to see the final anim..
Thx for sharing both the anims and the prj file....
You have good flow with the footStep tool, and some others have had so in the past too, but I feel it not very friendly to work with..

I myself have some kind of similar, but yet different workflow, which I have wanted to share in a tut for a long time, but I havent had the energy to put together..=( Carlo´s RealPuppet plug might come out before...and that I believe will solve if not all, but most Char Anim problems !

btw..
here are a few very short test anims of mine, nothing fancy at all..
One of the parts of my workflows, is to have the feet skels separated from the rest of the skel setup, in some cases I also even have separate Handskels in the same way.. This makes feet control a breeze..(when the rest of skel is set up properly..)
With this type of Hierachy..
Character Level
    SpineLevel
          SpinSkel
                RightArm
                LeftArm
                RightLeg
                LeftLeg
           BodyMeshLevel
In this level the body parts are..=)
    RightFootLevel
         RightFootSkel
              RightLeg Ctrl (IK Obj)
         RightFootMeshLevel
Either separate foot meshes, or just a PointGroup of the Foot point from the Main body
    LeftFootLevel
         LeftFootSkel
              LeftLeg Ctrl (IK Obj)
         LeftFootMeshLevel
Either separate foot meshes, or just a PointGroup of the Foot point from the Main body All objects but the SpineSkel and the RFoot and LFoot Skels (and maybe the handskels) are set to not selectable.. Then its easy to fastly select things when animating..=) (just by click and drag the need in the view, like either foot or spine.. )

Hopefully I can get some energy and share a prj file soon..=(

Here are the test anims..
all using MPEG Video Codec...
