Hi Frank, Couple of reasons: DynAtomic is very nice when dynamic systems are involved that have unpredictable results. But that means that every frame has to be calculated. In a fixed system like this bridge without any collisions going on it's much faster to use kinematics or keyframe based animation.
It's also not very handy when you want to shift the moment of opening the bridge in your animation. DynAtomic doesn't have keyframes that you can move along the timeline. When I've got this skeleton, I can open and close the bridge interactively. That's impossible with DynAtomic, againg because of the calculations needed.
