Hi Just my own thoughts about the gui. Haven't had the time to read through this thread properly, but here goes:
The gui as it is today kinda works, but there are a couple of problems, extreme problems if you ask me (since I'm affected in a big way :-)) 1) It uses the select window instead of the combination version. 2) RS3D uses the normal view window instead of the quad as the default window. When new people need to work with quad, getting to grips with the gui editor will throw them away and maybe look elsewhere. 3) There are still no builtin "select and fit" function builtin that will work with faces, egdes, vertexes, nurbs curves, triset faces and whatnot. Only objects supported? Just use a macro you say? Yeah sure! See below. 4) After so long, there is no way of saving selected parts of the macro set. Or multiselecting for deletion. With each new version I have to create the macro. Assign it to work with every type of object I want to work with (egdes, face etc). This takes time.... Too much time. For a beginner? I really don't think so. 5) I can't choose to use my own GUI, because after each SP there might be another command that needs to be in there. When I load up my own GUI after a new SP, I might miss some tools new to that SP. Since these tools are "hooked in" via macros... Well, see above I guess. But then again, I have no idea as to how this could be fixed, so I guess this wasn't very constructive ;-) Enough ranting... Back to work.
