Hi Garry,

a year long beta , but now that I think of it , V6
really does add a lot of new features .

The build I got over twelve months ago had obviously had a lot of work done on it ... something I feel was confirmed with the thread on Robert's site at the time. I think the full upgrade point is very well deserved. From what I am reading on the list and forum RealSoft have been very ambitious with what they have aimed for in this upgrade. Very serious "under-the-bonnet" re-programming. Any glitches being reported as inevitably there must be with something of this nature, seem to me to reflect a "go-for-it" kind of courage which has shot for the moon and asked questions afterwards ... but apart from an unfortunate Java thing Matthias picked up on and one or two other things, as far as I can see SP1 will not have to clean up much.

Not only under-the-bonnet engine work but many great fun things nearer the surface. I listed three ... which completely understates the case.

Hi Neil :

Ah , cool . Good for you & good for Realsoft . I was a
little surprised at first to learn that it has actually
been a year long beta , but now that I think of it , V6
really does add a lot of new features .

The upgrade price is awesome too .

cheers

At the start of last year I had a client come onboard who needed a feature
that was in the V6 and so I approached RealSoft. As ever, since RealSoft
could see their way clear to help, they did so and allowed me to purchase an upgrade to the current beta. Usually they would not be able to accommodate
this sort of thing but there is no harm in asking and in this case I was
lucky.

In return, over the year, I reported anything I found that was unexpected.
And while I do this anyway, I do like to think I helped a little bit.
