Sorry if I should have inconvenienced or angered someone, I just had

I won't quote the whole post, obviously you have a point. A BIG point.
But I am even worse myself - total neglection of website and
(potential) customers... but I'm working on it, a life-long process ;)
It strikes me as odd that soon after Garry was banned, the list
collapsed. His posts were often offensive but at least there was
PASSION... something this little community needs badly!
About V7: I hope they will introduce a few more of these parametric
objects (and finetune the existing ones - the Packer springs to
mind), it's a brilliant concept. And hopefully, the new rendering
engine's memory management will make the bigger plants renderable on
32-bit systems. And: MUCH more import/export options including
textures... etc. I'd like to import RS file into Vue! Small chance
the Vue programmers will ever include RS support but I have to admit
I've never asked...
thanks for the pages Robert,

Yes, Garry was really moving this userlist : )
Now it's just Questions and Answers about problems.
I have not done any 3D for 2 years now, just coding.
I vote to bring back Garry and his terrible whip.

LOL!!
Indeed?!
What did this PASSION evoke, did the community grow, did people
contribute more, share more?
OR.....
Did it just usually make some traffic on the list of people attempting
to defend themselves or console his troubled soul?
I think it was more of a case of making him leave too late; I think the
list had already nearly collapsed due mostly to him.
Although he had many interesting ideas and points, he was unable to
refrain from blaming others for his inability to understand concepts.
No matter what anyone contributed, it was never enough for him. I would
estimate he flamed half of the people on the list at some point, nearly
all undeserved IMO. He inevitably resorted to name calling and other
more "creative" methods of insult. He did his best to be obtuse in order
to be able to throw out another insult or nasty comment about someone's
method of presenting the results of their work.
He left in his wake, many people who had contributed a great deal but
had become hesitant to post anything to the list or forum, knowing it
was likely to be attacked for some absurd reason; that the person had
not written a full tutorial about it, etc..
I agree that RS has issues that need addressing but bringing back
someone like that is is not going to help accomplish that.
So, if you want drama in the form of drunken, near illiterates insulting
each other for absurd reasons, find some crap on TV to fill the void (US
network ABC is a likely candidate) , but I do not think we need it here.
Just my .02,
Zaug
