It seems some programs prefer triangles, and others not. I recall reading about Cinema 4D that it seemed to do best with geometry in "quads." Triangles seemed to more often produce subtle edges and artifacts in its rendering.
On the other hand I think I once saw that 3D Studio Max preferred triangles. At least for game character design. What does RS prefer?
