Hi Sergey,

Magnolia is really a two instances web application: you have the author
instance where editors typically work on contents and the public
instance which is where the pages that were created/edited in the author
are published. At its simplest, you begin by creating or editing a page
in the author website. This is called in-place editing, meaning that you
are presented with a preview of what will be the final page (paragraphs
with green bars and edit/move/delete buttons). Modified but not yet
published pages appear with a small yellow round sign under the "Status"
field in the author tree view. Once the page (or pages) are ready to be
published, you activate them either singularly or en bloc by right
clicking on the page or node you want to publish and choose publish.
Once published (green status in tree view) you can go to the public site
(the mapping from author to public site(s)) is found
under /configuration/server/activation/URL. There you'll find the URL to
the public site where you can see the final outcome of your
editing/creation work, the site the final user will see. Try
experimenting with our demo site at http://demoauthor.magnolia-cms.com
and see the result of your editing and publishing on

Federico
