Surprising to me that you don't see a difference between Derby and Postgres, 
but very good to know.

Maybe we will try both - I'll publish anything interesting we find out on the 
Wiki...

Hello,

Our sites might not represent what you are doing but we started out using 
PostgreSQL (Seems to work fine) but now use Derby everywhere and have had zero 
problems serving 10-50K visitors per day.  We do use the JackRabbit datastore 
which has been enabled by default in Magnolia for a while now.
